Lead time reduction is the main target of the lean transformation. The best way to eliminate muda’s within value stream is to obtain flow. Production must flow like water.

In order to obtain flow,

First, the processes must not be located at different locations. All process steps have to be placed in accordingly.

Second, the process steps cycle times must be almost near takt time. Without line balancing flow can not be established.
